I enjoyed my recent trip to Pattaya, though it is a full-on party place; don’t go for a quiet, relaxing time. I also wouldn’t advise staying in Pattaya Central straight off an international flight with jet lag, it’s just too intense!!
When planning my next location after Pattaya, I had serious trouble trying to find the correct information online. So many of Google’s results on Page 1 have incorrect information – I only got the real info by talking to Pattaya expats. Google searches produce autogenerated/AI articles rankings that trick people into clicking through. Sites like Direct Ferries mass-produce thousands of pages of complete nonsense, like the image below.

Another search for ‘Sattahip Ferries’ gives me this in #1 – a blank page with no text!

I know many services stopped and never resumed after COVID-19, but I’m talking about ferry routes that have never existed like above. You cannot get a ferry from Pattaya to any of the destinations above.
This post contains ferries that are ‘live’ as of March 2024. I plan to keep this page up-to-date so people can actually get real ferry information from Pattaya. I won’t add prices to the page, as they are continually going up in Thailand.
Pattaya to Koh Larn
To reach Koh Larn, a picturesque island off the coast of Pattaya, travelers typically start their journey from the Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya. From there, you can choose between a ferry and a speedboat service.

Bali Hai Pier is based at the end of Pattaya Beach and very easy to get to
Ferries are a cost-effective option, offering regular departures throughout the day and providing a scenic 30-45-minute ride to the island.
For those seeking a faster, more personalized experience, speedboats can be hired for a quicker crossing, taking approximately 15 minutes.
I took a speedboat there but got the ferry back, as the speedboat option was a bumpy ride. If you are even mildly prone to seasickness, I advise taking the ferry.
Pattaya to Hua Hin by Ferry
This ferry service is currently not available. The service stopped during COVID-19 and has never resumed, unfortunately.
The only option to get to Hua Hin from Pattaya is to drive.
Pattaya to Koh Samui by Ferry
There is now a ferry service from Pattaya to Koh Samui, run by Seahorse Ferries. There is very little information about this service online; their website has no information on the routes and times.
The ferry departs from Sattahip Port, about 1 hour from central Pattaya.
The journey takes around 12 hours but is overnight, and you get to sleep in a cozy cabin.
