New Brunswick is a great holiday destination that’s steeped in a fascinating culture and a colourful history that’s so typical of Canada. Like most of Canada, the natural beauty of the area is outstanding and it just begs to be explored. The architecture is great with many historical buildings that give you an insight into its interesting and colourful past.

The whole area around New Brunswick is known to be a great adventure holiday destination. There is so much to do – both on land and at sea, from exploring caves to whale watching. The winter months see visitors to the region enjoying winter sports with skiing and snowboarding being firm favourites – but there is so much more!

A Serene, Tranquil Holiday Destination

New Brunswick is also a serenely tranquil holiday destination; it’s a bird watcher’s paradise where nature has been left very much to her own devices. At the same time its wonderful choice of destinations if you want to relax and pamper yourself at one of the many full menu spas found in the area. Spending time in New Brunswick gives a new meaning to recharging your batteries and pampering yourself.  Like most of Canada, Brunswick and the surrounding area has amazing landscapes to explore.

What’s The Weather Like?

New Brunswick enjoys a warm summer, in fact the warmest in the whole of Canada. Average daily temperatures in the summer are around 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Winter temperatures remain just above freezing and the best part about taking a holiday there is that you can go at any time of the year – all four seasons are good times to go.

The summers are nice and warm, autumns are wonderfully colourful, winters last around four months with the first of the snows starting at the end of November but then it’s a winter sports paradise. When it does snow, it really snows with averages of between 8 to 12 inches. Springtime is gorgeous and one of the best times of the year to take a holiday in New Brunswick, you get to witness everything as it bursts back to life.

Cities worth Visiting

Fredericton is the capital of New Brunswick and it’s a fascinating place to spend some time in whether you holiday there in the winter or the summer months. The beauty of New Brunswick is there are attractions worth visiting during the hotter months and others that are great in the winter time. If you want to have the time of your life, try to make there when one of the film or music festivals is taking place – it’s a fun time to be visiting the region.

Moncton is the second biggest city in New Brunswick – it’s situated in the Petitcodiac River Valley which is a great area to hike in. During the winter offers some really good cross country skiing too. There’s lots to see including the Crystal Palace Amusement Park, and the Magnetic Hill which is world renowned.

Saint John is a wonderful base for anyone wanting to just kick back and watch the ships as they come and go in a really relaxed place. This is where you’ll find the reverse rapids which really do mystify many people when they first see them. The rapids at the Bay of Fundy flow the wrong way! Lots of museums and other attractions worth visiting which makes this one town to put on your list of places to go.

The beaches of New Brunswick boast crystal clear waters – these are freshwater beaches which you’ll find in amazing locations namely, Kiwanis Centennial Beach, Lakewood Reservoir, Dominion Park Beach to name just three. All of these stunning locations are brilliant places where you can swim, fish, jump in a boat or just laze about in the sun. When it comes to salt water beaches – you are spoilt for choice with New River Beach, Katy’s Cove and Indian Point Beach just begging to be explored.

New Brunswick is a beautiful place! It is definitely the most temperate of all of Canada. New England in the US and New Brunswick in Canada are a couple of my favorite places to visit. Both have wonderful natural and social attractions, and make great vacation spots. Thanks for sharing!
